Adell and Trout Lead Offensive Surge

Mike Trout was back in the Los Angeles Angels lineup, and Kole Calhoun Adell provided the power that helped secure a decisive 13-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Thursday. The Angels overwhelmed the home team early and often, with Adell hitting two home runs and Trout adding a solo shot to lead the offensive charge.

Game Turning Point

The game’s momentum shifted dramatically in the fourth inning when Adell launched a 359-foot home run to right field. The blast gave the Angels a 3-0 lead and set the tone for the rest of the contest. The Angels continued to pile on runs in the fifth inning, scoring four times. Adell hit a 433-foot home run to center field that drove in two more runs, while Grissom added an RBI single earlier in the frame to make it 4-0.

Scoring Breakdown

Los Angeles extended its lead further in the sixth inning when Grissom doubled to right field, bringing home two more runs to make the score 9-0. Trout added insurance in the eighth inning with a 438-foot home run to left-center field, extending the advantage to 11-0. Lowe scored on the play.

The Rangers managed to get on the board in the eighth when Kyle Higashioka hit a 389-foot home run to left-center field, making the score 11-1. However, the Angels responded immediately in the ninth inning. Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Adell, and Siri singled to left field to bring home Guzman, finalizing the 13-1 result.

Pitching and Final Notes

Walbert Urena started for the Angels, pitching four innings and allowing one hit and no earned runs. Samy Natera Jr. earned the win with two scoreless innings and five strikeouts. Ryan Zeferjahn, Jose Fermin, and Mitch Farris also pitched for Los Angeles, with Fermin allowing one earned run.

For the Rangers, MacKenzie Gore took the loss after five innings, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits. Gavin Collyer, Ben Peoples, Robby Ahlstrom, and Higashioka also pitched for Texas, combining to allow six more runs. The attendance at Globe Life Field was 23,288. The Angels improved to 37-56, while the Rangers fell to 46-46.
