Lee’s two homers help Giants beat Rangers 5-1

Lee extends the lead

Lee turned San Francisco’s early edge into a firmer cushion with a solo homer to right center in the third inning, and the Giants went on to beat the Texas Rangers 5-1 on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field.

The drive traveled 410 feet and made it 3-0 after San Francisco had already scored twice in the second. Lee added another solo homer to right center in the eighth, this one listed at 385 feet, and later brought in the Giants’ final run with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.

Giants strike first

San Francisco opened the scoring in the second when Gilbert singled to right and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo, with Gilbert moving to third on the play. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right that scored Gilbert for a 2-0 Giants lead.

After Lee’s third-inning homer, the score stayed 3-0 until the eighth. Lee’s second homer pushed the margin to 4-0, and San Francisco added one more run in the ninth when Lee hit a sacrifice fly to center to score McCray.

Texas’ run came in the ninth, when Duran homered to left. The 406-foot homer accounted for the Rangers’ only run and closed the scoring.

Webb controls Texas lineup

Logan Webb held Texas without a run over six innings, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out eight. He earned the win and moved to 7-7.

Keaton Winn recorded two outs, allowing one hit with one strikeout. Sam Hentges pitched 1 1/3 innings without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out one. Tristan Beck allowed one run on one hit and one walk while getting one out, and Reiver Sanmartin pitched two outs without allowing a hit or walk.

Rangers pitching and records

Cal Quantrill took the loss, falling to 4-4. He allowed four hits and one earned run over six innings, with one walk and four strikeouts.

Ben Peoples pitched one inning without allowing a hit or earned run, walking one and striking out one. Peyton Gray allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk in one inning. Nolan Kingham allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks in one inning, striking out one.

The final was San Francisco 5, Texas 1. Attendance was 23,736. The Rangers dropped to 55-58, while the Giants improved to 48-65.
