Playa Bowls is preparing to expand its presence in Texas with a new location in Little Elm. Public filings indicate the shop will be situated at 26556 E. University Drive, specifically in Building 100, Suite 110.
The upcoming establishment will serve smoothies and bowls featuring bases of açaí, pitaya, coconut, oatmeal, and kale, topped with fresh fruit and granola. Franchise owners Megan Weis and David Buttler are the individuals behind this specific Little Elm venture.
Weis provided an estimated timeline for the opening, suggesting it could occur between September and mid-December. The exact date depends on the project timeline and the permitting process, which remains ongoing.
The couple chose the area due to its growth and development along the corridor connecting the site to Denton. Their interest in the brand began during a family vacation in Rosemary Beach, Florida, where their children became regular customers. Weis noted that she personally enjoyed the Nutella bowl upon her first visit.
Following their positive experience with the chain, Weis and Buttler decided to pursue multiple Playa Bowls locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. They expressed a desire to contribute health-conscious dining options along U.S. 380 and to become active participants in the local community.
