Rodriguez and Pack Jr. Deliver the Blow

The Texas Longhorns’ offense exploded in the sixth inning, turning a two-run deficit into a commanding lead that would never be threatened. A. Rodriguez and A. Pack Jr. provided the firepower, combining for three home runs in the frame to shift the momentum entirely in favor of the home team.

A. Rodriguez launched a solo shot to right field, adding another run to the board. Shortly after, A. Pack Jr. connected on a home run to left, bringing in A. Robbins. Rodriguez completed his night with a second home run to right, this time driving in C. Early. These three blasts accounted for six of Texas’s 14 runs in a single inning, effectively ending any hope of an Alabama comeback.

Early Scoring Sets the Tone

Texas established its offensive rhythm early, taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning. E. Mendoza doubled to left, allowing A. Robbins to score. Mendoza advanced to third before A. Rodriguez doubled to right, bringing in both Mendoza and Robbins to make it 3-0.

The Longhorns continued to pile on in the second inning. L. Vaughn singled to left to score J. Lemm, making it 3-1. A. Pack Jr. then singled to left, driving in C. Borba to push the lead to 4-1. E. Mendoza singled to right, scoring C. Tinney to make it 5-1. The inning concluded with A. Rodriguez tripled to deep left center, scoring A. Pack Jr. and E. Mendoza to extend the advantage to 7-1.

Alabama managed to score in the second inning when J. Lemm singled to left, and in the fourth inning when J. Lemm homered to right, narrowing the gap slightly to 7-2.

Pitching Dominance Secures the Win

Texas pitcher P. Riojas (Ruger) was the workhorse for the Longhorns, pitching six innings and allowing only two earned runs on six hits while striking out seven batters. His performance earned him the win, improving his record to 6-2.

The Texas bullpen provided flawless relief. P. Walls (Brody) pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two batters. P. Walker (Ethan) and P. Howard (Cody) combined for one out, retiring the side without allowing a hit or walk.

Alabama’s pitching staff struggled to contain the Texas lineup. P. Adams (Zane) took the loss, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits in 1.2 innings. P. Heiberger (Matthew) pitched four innings, giving up three earned runs. P. Banks (Hagan) and P. Upchurch (Myles) pitched the final innings, with Banks allowing one earned run and Upchurch surrendering two earned runs.
