Late Surge Secures Victory

The Texas Rangers overcame a significant early deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Angels 7-6 on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Globe Life Field. The turning point arrived in the ninth inning when Wyatt Langford, returning from the injured list, singled to left field to drive in the game-winning run. The victory improved the Rangers' record to 47-46, while the Angels fell to 37-57.

Angels Establish Early Lead

Los Angeles jumped out to a commanding lead early in the contest. In the first inning, the Angels capitalized on two scoring plays. First, Nimmo homered to left center, a 394-foot shot that gave the visitors a 1-0 advantage. Shortly after, Burger singled to left field, allowing Jung to score and extend the lead to 2-0.

The Angels continued to pile on runs in the third inning. Trout grounded out to shortstop, allowing Meckler to score, making it 2-1. Then, Duron launched a two-run home run to center field, a 419-foot blast that put the Angels ahead 4-1. The lead grew in the fourth inning when Foscue homered to center, a 429-foot shot that made the score 5-1. By the sixth inning, Foscue hit a ground-rule double that allowed Cauley to score, pushing the Angels' advantage to 6-1.

Rangers Mount Comeback

The Rangers began chipping away at the deficit in the seventh inning. Meckler singled to right field, allowing Guzman to score, making the score 6-2. The inning continued with a flurry of action. Schanuel singled to center, driving in two runs to bring the Rangers within one, 6-4. Soler followed with a single to center, scoring Trout to make it 6-5. Adell then singled to left, scoring Schanuel and tying the game at 6-6.

Decisive Ninth Inning

With the game tied, the Rangers needed one more run in the bottom of the ninth. Langford delivered, singling to left field to score Osuna and give Texas the 7-6 lead. The Rangers' bullpen held the Angels scoreless to preserve the win.

Cole Winn earned the win (4-2) after pitching 0.1 innings without allowing a hit or run. Jacob Latz pitched 1.2 innings, striking out three batters. Tyler Alexander recorded the save (2) in 0.1 innings. Nathan Eovaldi started for Texas, pitching 6.0 innings and allowing three earned runs while striking out 10 batters. Peyton Gray earned the hold (6) after giving up two earned runs in 0.2 innings.

For the Angels, Kirby Yates took the loss (0-4) after allowing one earned run in 0.1 innings. Reid Detmers started, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing five earned runs on seven hits while striking out six. Brent Suter, Ryan Zeferjahn, Sam Bachman, and Chase Silseth also pitched for Los Angeles.

The game drew an attendance of 29,646 spectators to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
