Osuna’s Power Shifts the Tide

The Texas Rangers found their offensive rhythm in the eighth inning, capitalizing on a pivotal three-run home run by Osuna to break open a tight contest. The blast, which traveled 364 feet to right field, capped a five-run frame that ultimately sealed an 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday at Globe Life Field.

Before the decisive eighth, the game remained a back-and-forth affair. The Angels struck first in the second inning when Lopez singled to left, allowing Carter and Osuna to score. Lopez advanced to second base as the visitors took a 2-2 tie into the middle innings. The Rangers responded in the seventh when Meckler singled to left to put Texas ahead 3-2, only for Foscue to answer with a 387-foot home run to left, tying the game at 3-3.

Rangers Take Control in the Eighth

The momentum shifted permanently in the eighth inning. Duran singled to left to score Smith, giving the Rangers a 4-3 lead. Foscue followed with a single to left, driving in Burger to extend the advantage to 5-3. The inning concluded with Osuna’s powerful home run, which brought home Duran and Foscue to push the final margin to 8-3.

The Rangers’ offense was supported by strong pitching performances. Jacob deGrom started for Texas, delivering five innings of work while striking out seven batters. He allowed two earned runs on five hits. Cole Winn pitched a perfect inning in relief, followed by Chris Martin, who allowed one earned run on two hits. Peyton Gray secured the win with a scoreless inning, striking out two batters, while Tyler Alexander closed out the game with another hitless frame, adding two more strikeouts.

Angels Pitching Struggles Continue

The Angels’ starting pitcher, Jose Soriano, lasted six innings but could not prevent the loss. He surrendered two earned runs on two hits while striking out four. Tayler Saucedo pitched one inning, allowing one earned run and two hits. Sam Bachman took the loss after pitching 0.2 innings, giving up five earned runs on six hits. Brent Suter finished the game for Los Angeles, pitching 0.1 innings and recording one strikeout.

The final score of 8-3 improved the Rangers’ record to 46-45, while the Angels fell to 36-56. The game was played in front of 23,816 spectators at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
