Trevon Diggs has joined the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This signing marks the Seahawks' second cornerback acquisition this week, following their addition of Terrion Arnold, who is currently facing significant legal challenges in Florida.
At 27 years old, Diggs has made a name for himself in the NFL, recording 20 interceptions and defending 63 passes throughout his career. He is anticipated to compete for a role in the Seahawks' secondary, which is currently affected by injuries.
Previously, Diggs had extended his contract with the Cowboys for five years at $97 million in July 2023. However, he participated in just 22 out of 51 regular-season games in the subsequent three seasons.
His tenure with the Cowboys concluded after a series of events, including an incident at home where he reported that a television fell on him, resulting in a lengthy absence in 2025. The Cowboys released him after he expressed a desire to stay in the Washington, D.C. area with his family after a Christmas Day game, a request that was not granted.
Following his release, he was picked up by the Green Bay Packers shortly thereafter. Details regarding Diggs' role with the Seahawks remain undisclosed.
