Cavalli Dominates the Mound

Cade Cavalli anchored the Washington Nationals' pitching staff with a commanding performance in Arlington. The right-hander retired 11 batters on strikes while allowing just three hits over six innings. His effort was crucial in limiting the Texas Rangers, who managed only three total baserunners against him.

Cavalli earned the win, improving his record to 11-5, and set the stage for a dominant offensive showing from his teammates.

Scoring Sequence Unfolds

The Nationals began their scoring in the third inning when Tena launched a 415-foot home run to center field. The lead expanded in the fourth when Ruiz singled to right, allowing Chaparro to score from first. In the sixth, Vivas grounded out to the pitcher, enabling Chaparro to tag home for the third run.

The decisive blow came in the seventh inning, where Chaparro hit a 397-foot home run to left field. That blast brought home Ortiz and Tena, padding the margin to 6-0 and effectively ending the contest.

Relievers and Ranger Pitching

After Cavalli departed, Will Dion pitched a clean inning, striking out one batter without allowing a hit or a walk. Max Kranick followed, surrendering one hit but no runs while walking no one. Jake Bird closed the game with a scoreless inning, striking out one batter.

For Texas, Kumar Rocker took the loss in his 4-10 season. He pitched five innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs while walking one and striking out three. Cole Winn followed, giving up two hits and one earned run in one inning.

Peyton Gray struggled, allowing one hit and three earned runs while issuing two walks in one inning. Jordan Montgomery finished the game, pitching two innings and allowing one hit without surrendering an earned run or a walk, while striking out two batters. The Rangers finished with a record of 62-65, while the Nationals improved to 61-67.
